Will converting to WAV improve the quality?
No. Detail an MP3 threw away cannot be recovered; the WAV sounds the same and is roughly 5–10 times bigger. People usually need WAV because an editor, CD burner or device only accepts it.
Should I pick 16-bit or 24-bit?
16-bit, like a CD, works almost everywhere. Choose 24-bit if you will keep mixing in a pro editor. Coming from an MP3, the two sound identical.
